Image of Aelfgeth

Just down the hill from Brill, in the 11th century, lived Aelfgeth, a craftsperson adept at gold silk embroidery. Her work was celebrated across the county, and caught the eye of Godric the Sheriff who gave over acres of land, that she might teach his own daughter gold embroidery. Our mug is her namesake, a nod to her incredible craft. We have her work in mind when shaping and attaching our handles.
