About

Brill Common was once home to busy kilns and productive claypits. Shards of medieval vessels, found all over the UK, can be traced back to the potteries nestled around the village. The industry continued for at least six hundred years. But one day, those potteries all disappeared.

Commoner was started to bring pottery back to Brill. Drawing inspiration from the forms, glazes and decoration of those early pots, and influenced by local heritage and folklore, every pot is unique and handmade. Irregularity, natural materials and the makers’ hand are all visible.
